The Florida Panthers took an early series lead in the NHL Stanley Cup Final after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 on Saturday night.

Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was the star of the game, stopping all 32 shots he faced to earn his third shutout of the postseason. The Panthers' offense was led by Carter Verhaeghe, who scored two goals, and Aleksander Barkov, who added an empty-netter.

The Oilers were held without a shot on goal for the first 10 minutes of the game and never really recovered. They were outshot 32-18 and failed to convert on two power-play opportunities.

Game 2 of the series will be played in Edmonton on Monday night.
